Specialty Eye Care
Advanced diagnosis and treatment for complex eye conditions — from dry eye and keratoconus to diabetic eye disease and glaucoma. TRICARE accepted.
When Standard Eye Care Isn't Enough
Most eye care practices handle routine exams. We do that too — but our practice is built around patients with conditions that require more. Whether you have an irregular cornea, a chronic disease affecting your eyes, or you've been told you can't wear contacts, we have the technology and experience to help.
We serve patients from across Fayetteville, Fort Liberty, Hope Mills, Spring Lake, and Cumberland County. TRICARE is accepted for most specialty services.
Dry Eye Center
Chronic dry eye is one of the most under-diagnosed conditions I see in my practice. We offer a full range of evidence-based treatments — from prescription eye drops and punctal plugs to omega-3 therapy and in-office lid hygiene — tailored to your specific tear film profile.
Keratoconus
Keratoconus causes the cornea to thin and bulge into a cone shape, distorting vision in ways that glasses and standard contacts can't fix. We specialize in scleral lens fittings for keratoconus — the most effective non-surgical option available — and monitor progression with corneal topography.
Specialty Contact Lenses
Not everyone can wear standard soft contacts. We fit scleral lenses, rigid gas-permeable (RGP) lenses, hybrid lenses, and orthokeratology (Ortho-K) lenses for patients with irregular corneas, high prescriptions, and conditions that make standard lenses uncomfortable or ineffective.
Post-LASIK & Post-Surgical Contacts
Had LASIK but your vision regressed? Or developed ectasia, irregular astigmatism, or chronic dry eye after surgery? Specialty contact lenses — especially sclerals — can restore the clear vision you were hoping LASIK would give you permanently.
Hard-to-Fit Contacts
Been told you can't wear contacts? That's rarely true. Hard-to-fit doesn't mean impossible — it means you need a specialist with the right equipment and experience. We evaluate your corneal shape, tear film, and prescription to find the lens that actually works for you.
Diabetic Eye Exams
Diabetes can damage the blood vessels in your retina before you notice any vision changes. Annual dilated eye exams are the only way to catch diabetic retinopathy early — when it's still treatable. We coordinate care with your primary care physician and endocrinologist.
Glaucoma Management
Glaucoma is called the silent thief of sight for a reason — most people have no symptoms until significant vision is already lost. We use visual field testing, OCT imaging, and intraocular pressure monitoring to detect and manage glaucoma at every stage.
Why Patients Choose Eye Medics for Specialty Care
Advanced Diagnostic Technology
Corneal topography, OCT imaging, visual field testing, and meibomian gland evaluation — we have the tools to see what standard exams miss.
TRICARE Accepted
We accept TRICARE Prime and TRICARE Select for most specialty services, making advanced care accessible for active duty, veterans, and military families at Fort Liberty.
Specialty Lens Expertise
Fitting scleral, RGP, and hybrid lenses requires a different skill set than standard contact lens exams. We've built our practice around patients who need specialty fits.
Coordinated Care
For conditions like diabetic eye disease and glaucoma, we work alongside your primary care team to make sure your eye care fits into your overall health plan.
Not Sure Which Service You Need?
That's completely normal. Most patients come in with a symptom — blurry vision, eye discomfort, a failed contact lens fitting — not a diagnosis. Call us or request an appointment and we'll figure out the right starting point together.
